On the afternoon of July 31, 2024, Viettel Construction held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project "Construction of underground cable lines along Lien Khuong - Prenn Expressway in Lam Dong Province". This event marked an important step forward for the North-South Expressway Underground Cable Line Investment Project, contributing to upgrading the country's telecommunications infrastructure.
Attending the ceremony were many delegates from functional agencies and partners. On the side of Viettel Construction, there was the presence of Mr. Nguyen Thai Hung - Deputy General Director. Representatives from the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province, Mr. Truong Trung Thang - Deputy Director; Mr. Le Thanh Liem - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Lam Dong province. Also attending were leaders from the People's Committee of Duc Trong district, the People's Committee of Lien Nghia town, and construction units such as: Hung Phat Company Limited, Sao Nam Telecommunication Joint Stock Company and Minh Ngoc Construction and Service Company Limited. On the side of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group, there was Mr. Le Xuan Tung - Deputy Director of Viettel Lam Dong who witnessed the event.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hung - Deputy General Director of Viettel Construction gave an opening speech, emphasizing the importance of the project to the development of national telecommunications infrastructure and promoting the digital transformation process according to the Government's orientation: "The underground cable line along the Lien Khuong - Prenn expressway, after completion, will be a solid transmission line ensuring the connection of the data transmission network from Da Lat city, Lam Dong province to the economic centers of neighboring provinces and the whole country through the transmission axis along the North-South expressway system".
In order for the Lien Khuong - Prenn route to be started soon as it is now, Mr. Hung sent his sincere thanks to the authorities and partners who have supported and accompanied Viettel Construction in the process of preparing and implementing the project.

The project to invest in underground cable lines along the North-South Expressway, with a total length of 3,025 km, of which the section from Da Nang to the South includes 32 routes running along the expressway system through 26 provinces and cities, is divided into two implementation phases:
- Phase 1 (2024-2025): Deploy 22 routes with construction sites.
- Phase 2 (2025-2028): Deploy the remaining 10 routes running along expressways that have not been expanded.
The underground cable line along the Lien Khuong - Prenn Expressway is one of the important routes of the project, playing a role in connecting state management agencies, telecommunications network operators and enterprises from Da Lat city to the North-South transmission axis.
