Based on the contractor selection results of CMC Telecom Infrastructure Corporation (CMC Telecom) based on the processes and regulations of the law, Viettel Construction will be the partner to continue operating the backbone fiber optic cables. interprovincial within 24 months (starting from February 1, 2021).
Specifically, Viettel Construction undertakes construction and operation, maintenance, incident response, and works related to the optical fiber lines of CMC Telecom in the areas of the North - Central - South provinces. . The total length of the cable line is up to 2,750km of fiber optic cables (including cable cars, underground cables) and divided into 3 lots corresponding to 3 areas. Accordingly, Viettel Construction will patrol and test the cable line periodically once a month, ensuring the time for troubleshooting and the cable break rate within the time specified in the contract.
In 2020, Viettel Construction operated 970km of CMC Telecom's fiber optic cables in the North and the South, helping the quality of CMC Telecom's cable network to be significantly improved month by month, reducing the number of high attenuation points, increasing the availability on the cable line. The result in 2020 is considered as a hinge for Viettel Construction and CMC Telecom to continue signing a new contract lasting 2 years, increasing from 970km to 2,750km, expanding in all 3 North - Central - South.
