In fact, the VHKT market is opening up many new opportunities for Viettel Construction when the Government plans to turn off the 2G network at the end of 2024. When 5G technology explodes, Viettel Construction will have more opportunities to build, operate, and invest. invest in new construction stations.
At the Military Affairs conference organized by Viettel Group on January 12, 2024, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung shared:
“2024 is the year of commercialization of 5G nationwide. If 5G had been deployed 4 years ago, the equipment would have been very expensive. Even if it were done, it would have only covered 20-30% of the population, covering cities. But now after 4 years, the equipment price has decreased to only 1/4, so with that amount of money we can still have 100% coverage. So, let's plan for nationwide coverage in 2024, use 5G SA right away, without having to go through the intermediate stage of 4.5G (5G NSA).
Viettel must do it first before other networks will follow. Just like nearly 20 years ago, when other network operators were 10 years ahead of Viettel but only had 700-800 broadcasting stations, Viettel right from the first years immediately deployed 4,000 broadcasting stations, 4-5 times larger than previous carriers, thus creating a mobile boom in Vietnam. After only 4 years, Vietnam's mobile density increased from 4% to 100% and Viettel became the number 1 network operator. Vinaphone and MobiFone networks did not get smaller, no one lost money, but all grew up. , because the piece of cake is bigger. And the most important thing is that the country and its people benefit."
This gives Viettel Construction the opportunity to become the top choice of network operators when outsourcing construction and infrastructure activities. This choice helps network operators optimize their equipment, while saving costs and specializing in deployment capacity.
